Weapon Carrying Drug Dealer Arrested In Canterbury

A drug dealer who was carrying a weapon after being stopped in Canterbury has been given a jail term.

Khalid Ibrahim, of no fixed address, admitted to three separate offences after more than 100 wraps were seized from the car in which he was travelling.

At around 1pm on 24th March 2025, patrols in the city centre were alerted to a suspicious vehicle and followed it to Kingsmead Road, where it stopped. Ibrahim was inside the car and was detained while searches took place. Officers recovered a bag from a door side pocket, which contained multiple small packages of heroin and crack cocaine.

Two mobile phones, an amount of cash and a hunting-style knife – which Ibrahim admitted to carrying in his trouser pocket at the time – were also seized. After being taken into custody, Ibrahim was charged the following day.

The offender pleaded guilty to possession of a knife, being concerned in the supply of heroin and being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine. He further admitted to possession of a knife in a public place in relation to an incident in Luton, Bedfordshire in December 2024.

Ibrahim, 24, was sentenced on Monday 3rd November at Canterbury Crown Court to four years and one month in prison.

Detective Sergeant Martin Aird said ‘Drug-dealing is frequently associated with other criminal activity, including violent crime. By carrying a weapon, Ibrahim has shown himself to be a dangerous offender and I am pleased he is serving a custodial sentence.’
