Rolex Thief Jailed For More Than Seven Years

A violent thief who stole a Rolex watch worth more than £10,000 has been jailed for seven years and six months.

Jason Wokeh threatened a man in Maidstone with a knife and stole a luxury watch after responding to an online sales advert.

The robbery happened at around 9pm on 19th August 2025, after Wokeh arranged to view a Rolex watch at the seller’s address in Shepway. Once inside, he asked questions about the timepiece to gain the victim’s trust.

After being handed the watch and accompanying paperwork, Wokeh pulled a 10 inch knife from his waistband, threatened the man and fled the property with the item.

Police officers attended the scene, reviewed CCTV and, following initial enquiries, identified Wokeh as the suspect. The arrest attempt was executed at his home in Maxey Road, Woolwich, where the stolen watch was recovered.

During the arrest, Wokeh initially attempted to conceal himself under bedding and screamed as he hid under a duvet at his London home. He later silently pointed towards the stolen watch when officers informed him that they would be searching for it.

The 20 year old was later charged with robbery and threatening a person with an offensive weapon. He pleaded guilty at Maidstone Crown Court on 6th October and was sentenced at the same court on 23th March 2026.

Detective Sergeant Matthew Lynch, said ‘Wokeh attended the victim’s home under the pretence of being a genuine buyer. He abused the man’s trust when he threatened to stab him and stole his luxury watch, leaving the victim shaken.’
