Ypres ram raid steals 150–250 laptops at Ter Waarde Estate

Ypres (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – A ram raid at Ypres’ Ter Waarde estate stole 150–250 laptops worth €15,000–€35,000. Manager Wim Teerlinck says thieves acted quickly. Police are investigating.

As VRT News reported, the police have opened an investigation into the theft that took place at the Ter Waarde industrial estate in Ypres. Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage from the industrial estate, but no suspects have been arrested so far. Police said the raid highlights security risks for commercial warehouses.

“The perpetrators only needed about three minutes to strike. That’s because they had already scouted the crime scene the night before the ram raid,”

says store manager Wim Teerlinck.

“On Friday night, holes were punched in the warehouse’s skylights in several places. Using bright flashlights, they searched through these holes for easy access to the ideal loot.”

What happened during the Ypres Ter Waarde ram raid, stealing 150–250 laptops?

The warehouse manager in Ypres said the ram raiders clearly knew what they were doing and targeted a weak point in the building.

“You can protect your company like a fortress, but there are always ways to break through,”

he said. The company is now taking steps to secure that vulnerable area.

The raid, which occurred Saturday night, Nov 1, 2025, at the Ter Waarde industrial estate, resulted in the theft of 150 to 250 refurbished laptops valued between €15,000 and €35,000. The stolen laptops were completed orders ready for delivery, and authorities also reported significant damage to the warehouse.

About 30 minutes after the break-in, a burned-out car was found in Langemark. The West Flanders public prosecutor confirmed that the vehicle may have been used in the raid. No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.

In recent years, there have been similar thefts in West Flanders, including Kortrijk (2023) and Bruges (2022), where organised groups used stolen vehicles. They quickly stole electronics and caused significant damage. Authorities note that these are “well-organised” crimes that are difficult to prevent due to the quick, precise nature of the attacks.
